Patience [Flaky]

[Splendid]

Splendid sat on vacant bench that stood infront of an abandoned bookstore. His attire was casual and his bandana-thing was around his neck instead of Of his eyes like a superhero he liked to be. His life he found was rathe lonely at the moment since he just moved here, and strangely enough, he still had his thoughts focused on his long-term childhood crush- Flaky.
He found out not long after he moved here that she lived in the area, which spiked his attitude, but not only that, but she was still with Flippy, that crazy trashy son of a female dog that won her heart over Splendid. Recently Flippy left for war, and it's been about a month he's web gone. Wonder how She's holding up?
During his train of thoughts he heard the click of tiny heels on the pavement and he lifted his head to see who it was. The long red hair made him spring up from his seat and trott over to the girl. "Hey!! Lorelei! It's me, Jacob!"

The girl with spiky red hair came to a stop when her childhood friend trot over to her. Her golden eyes widened, and she ran halfway to meet up with Jacob. "Jacob!" she cried happily. She noticed that he was still wearing that red bandana-thing. He's still wearing that thing? I thought it would get smaller on him as he grows up. Flaky smiled warmly at him and said, "You're still wearing that red bandana? Well, It still looks cute on you~ Do you live here too?" She wanted to throw herself at him and never let go, but people might get the wrong impression. Everyone knows that Flaky and Flippy are together, so that's why she didn't bother showing any affection. She didn't want rumors going around, and then Flippy hears about it. Jacob was the one that got away. Now, you're probably confused why I'm saying that Jacob was the one that got away instead of Flaky. Flaky used to have a huge crush on him when they were little, but she didn't want to jeopardize what they had, so that's why she turned down all the flowers and love notes. For the sake of their unbreakable friendship....

Splendid was very close to get her into a hug but he got the note that she wasn't showing any affection so he didn't bother. "I-I made a promise to keep on wearing it.. Thanks though!" he said, his cheeks a little pink at the compliment. "So, how's it been? It's been so long since I've seen you!" he exclaimed, slapping his hands on his sides than awkwardly putting them in his pocket. Flaky still looked exactly the same from when she was 12, the last time he laid eyes on her. Still beautiful and bubbly.

She blinked and thought about the day they met, and the rest of the time they spent together before she dated Flippy. "Really? I don't remember you making a promise to keep on wearing it." She nodded as if she was saying, "No problem". Flaky blushed a little bit when she noticed that he was blushing. He's so cute when he blushes! She snapped out of the daydream and back to reality. "Huh? Oh! Well, things have been great so far. Flippy just left to go back into the army, so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that him and the other Flippy will come back home safe and sound. What about you?" It has been too long...

"So he joined the army in the end?" he said, a little shocked. "Wow~ it mist be scary knowing he's out there." hhonestly, Splendid didn't care whatsoever. He never liked Flippy ever since he started dating Flaky. He still didn't like how they were still dating. Splendid ways found Flippy to be a no-good trashy stupid guy, that was scary and could easily beat him up. "So that means your still dating him, right?" he asked, holding some sort of a smile.

"Sadly, yes. But, I'm just glad I talked him into going back. He wanted to go, but he told me that he wouldn't go if I didn't want him to. I lied to him.... just so he could go back into the army. I'm so stupid. I should've told him to stay no matter what, but I didn't want to hold him back from doing what he does best. Did I do the wrong thing?" It is scary.... Flippy, please come back safe and sound. Flaky was so happy that Jacob cared about her boyfriend... or so she thought. She had no idea that Jacob didn't like Flippy, because he stole Flaky from him, so she thought everything was okay between the two males. Her smile grew bigger, and she nodded in response to his question."Of course~ If he and I break up, then he'll have to break up with me, because I'm never letting him go."

Spleaded listened to her in a respectable way. He nodded at the end of her story. "I think he knows that your not happy about it. Like, who wants their boyfriend to be sent off across the world? It sucks!" he smiled warmly after. "But he should be alright I bet." he laughed a little and he felt a little awkward when she said she wasn't going to let him go ever. What would be worse if she found out he still had a crush on her.
(I saw House at the end of the street yesterday :3 amazing!!)

"I'm so happy you understand, Jacob." Maybe one hug wouldn't hurt... Flaky giggled and hugged him tightly. It had been a long time since she last hugged Jacob.... It felt nice to hug her childhood friend. Just one hug wouldn't change anything, would it? She looked up at him and said, "Do you want to do anything special to celebrate? Today is a special today since we finally reunited. I missed you so much, Jacob~!"

Splendid hugged her back, hiding his cheesy grin on his face. At least he knew she was happy to see him. "Want to go find somewhere to eat? I didn't bad breakfast so I'm starving!" Splendid made it seem like they were on a date, something he always desired. But she probably didn't think of it like that, and maybe won't even be thinking about him, more so about how Flippy would be Doing. "I just moved here so I don't know anywhere I can eat. Got any ideas?"

"I know! Let's go to my house. I can make you some bacon and pancakes. Or, how about bacon, biscuits with gravy, and eggs? Hm.... I can always make something completely different. Flippy likes bacon, so I make sure to include bacon in his breakfast when he stays at my house overnight. It depends... Do you still want breakfast?" Flaky wasn't sure where to eat, so she suggested her house. She always liked cooking for people especially Flippy. She took his hand and began to pull him. "Come on, Jacob~ I'm sure Flippy wouldn't mind. Plus, you and I have a lot to catch up on."

Wow, Flaky sure talked about Flippy a lot. She must really love him. Splendid pushed those thoughts aside and nodded his head. "Sounds amazing! Buy I don't like bacon so we'd have to leave that out." he liked using 'we' instead of 'she' because it didn't make him sound so demanding. "I can help you cook too! I love to cook!" he exclaimed, walking along side her while happily holding her hand.

The hot sun burned down onto the blazing hot sand in Iraq, making the five soldiers on their jeep completely miserable. Flippy was sitting in the passenger seat, his head flopped over the seat looking at the other soldiers who were holding the same expression as him. Exhausted. It's not like much really happened but it was bad enough they weren't able to come back to base yet. They were gone for two weeks. They approached the base camp and the jeep stopped and waited for the gates to open for them. This place was well-build with a wired fence around to camp to let no one in or out. Flippy's head poked up and was so happy to see this place again. His face was darker and very red in a lot of places, especially under the eyes. He wore his miltary hat to somehow protect his face but it didn't do the best job at all. Once the jeep came to a hault, he quickly rushed to grab his huge bag, gun holster and his guns bundled together, along with the other four soldiers and jogged back to their cabins. They weren't air-conditioned but it was colder than outside. He stripped off his kale and pants and boots, leaving him in a black tanktop and boxers. Than he threw off his head and flopped his body into his very uncomforable bed. Flippy let out a long sigh and stared up at the ceiling. It's great to be back here. Safe and sound.

Flaky couldn't stop rambling on and on about Flippy, but she knew that she was just missing him. She loved him more than life itself. She was also unaware of Jacob getting upset whenever he heard Flaky say something nice about Flippy and how much she loved him. Her head tilted to the right like a dog, and she blinked at him curiously. "You don't like bacon? I see... I'll just have to figure out something else to cook for you." Her eyes sparkled with delight when Jacob offered to help her cook. "Really!? I never knew that you could cook. See? We have A LOT to catch up on. Great! The more the merrier~"

Splendid's eyes lit up when she agreed to let him cook with her. It would help with Bonding time to bring them closer. How awesome would it be if he got Flaky? Amazing! Duh. "So, how long is Axel gone for?" he asked, his open hand fixing his air and going back into it's pocket.

Flippy decided he should shower. He stunk pretty bad with two weeks without one. He stripped off the tray of his clothing and hopped into a cold shower. It felt nice for a while, untitled water gave him goosebumps and he turned up the heat. after he stepped out and dried himself off, taking his dirty clothing and putting it in his washing machine. It's been taking him a while to get used to the luxury of the camp. The last home he was sent off it was nothing but a tent. Flaky wandered him mind the whole time, which made him wonder if she got his letter. He thought letters were romantic and it would be nice for her to get one from him letting her know he was doing good. Flippy missed Flaky so much, and the worst part was it's only been a month and he has another five left to go. The skyped almost every day on the laptop he was provided with, but he wished he could really hold her again.

"Well, he's been gone for a month so.... he has f-five more months." She hesitated when she said the last part of what she needed to say. Flaky looked away and said, "Can we please talk about something else? I know I brought it up, but...." she trailed off and shivered, walking closer to Jacob and seeking for warmth. S-So cold... She just wanted to walk home in silence and forget that they had the conversation. It bothered her that Flippy wouldn't be coming home until five months pass. How could she keep her sanity for five months? She would go insane, but at least she had Jacob. Flaky could always count on him to cheer her up when she's down.

As Flaky walked closer to him, Splendid felt obligated to put his arm around her. Not only was it for warmth but she needed a bit of comforting. "I'm sorry..." he said. "I shouldnt of asked." Splendid agreed to a silent walk home, and that's what they did for the next little while until they reached her house. In her mailbox was a small package with an envelope attached to it. It was close to falling out because the mailman didn't seem to put it in the box properly. It was all from Flippy which he sent three weeks ago. It's sad it takes so long for something to travel across the world.
