Patience [Flaky]

"It's okay. You don't have to apologize. I can't blame you for being curious." She smiled as they walked to her house silently. It wasn't much of an awkward silence, but it was kind of peaceful... for Flaky. She'd rather deal with it on her own instead of making Jacob listen to her talk about her feelings about Flippy. If Jacob was a true friend to her, he wouldn't like it if she was sad. Flaky looked at him and said, "Thank you, Jacob." The girl noticed the package with an envelope attached to it in her mailbox. Her eyes widened, and she quickly ran over to the mailbox and took out the package. "It's from Flippy!"

Splendid rushed over to her too, seeing her mood spark up he decided to play along. At this point he did care a little because Flaky probably would have a bunch of emotions flooding through her at sone point. And he was a bit curious to see what Flippy had written to her and what the package held.

Flippy was on his laptop, trying to figure out something to do. Flaky wasn't online for skype right now so he couldn't talk to her, which was one of the only reasons why anyone here had a laptop- to talk with family. It disappointed him a little but he knew she'd log in at some point. As he sat there he started to recall what he mailed to her before he left for two weeks on duty.
In the package was jewlety he bought of a kind man in a market. There was a necklace with a small cross on it, engraved in diamonds the man claimed to have found himself, a pair of hoop earings and a silver ring that looked like a vine with leaved around the finger, also holding a few diamonds in it.
Not only did he remember thte exact details of the gifts, but he remembered the letter he wrote along with it.

Hey, Lorelei~

I don't know any other way to start this but to say I miss you like crazy. I thought six months wouldn't be that long and I'd see you soon but it feels like forever, and by the time you get this I've only been gone for about a month or so. As each day goes on in starting to wonder why ai'm here instead of back home with you. I shouldn't have left you and I'll always call it the biggest mistake of my life. You agreed with me going but I knew you didn't want me to this whole time. Now I wished I said no and stayed. But I feel lucky to only he here for six months. Some of tthe men I met here have been deployed for two years. I couldn't stay away from you for that long.
Anyway, the gifts in the pack that you may or may not have opened yet I got from a marketplace while I was out of camp. The clerks were actually very nice to me but sadly they didn't give me any discount for being a soldier. The man said he made them himself, and I thought they would look amazing on you. I hope you like them!
I hope everything at home is going smooth. It's been alright in Iraq but it's crazy hot outside and theres no AC in the houses we're in and we have to wear sweaters and pants for protection. It must be a little cold where you are right now and I'm kinda jealous. Just be careful and have as much fun as you can and I'll be home before you know it. I love you, Baby...

Flippy hoped she would enjoy everything he got for her, and that she wasn't spending her time alone. He missed her so much and wished if he closed his eyes to ight he'd wake up in his bed with her by his side.

Flaky was about to open the package after she got done reading the letter, but she glanced at Jacob before doing anything. She stared at him and wondered if it would bother him if she opened it. She remembered that Jacob used to have a huge crush on her when they were little and all the way through highschool. It must have annoyed him a bit to hear that she was still with Flippy. "You know what? I'll just open it later. I'm starving, so lets go inside!" she said in a cheerful voice and took his hand. Flaky opened the door and lead Jacob inside, closing the door behind him. It was like any ordinary house. It wasn't too run down, nor was it too fancy. It was just right. She wandered into the kitchen and hoped Jacob would follow. "So, what are you in the mood for?"

He read the letter along with her and realized he'd never live up the Flaky's expectations from the way Flippy treated her. Maybe Flaky was better off with him afterall. As he walked inside he examined the house. It was so warm and cozy. "I like your house." he complimented. "And whatever you want to make it doesn't matter to me." he said, smiling and holding a warm attitude. "It doesn't have to be that special, like, we can just make sandwiches or something."

"Thank you very much!" Hm.... She had to think about that. Whenever Flaky wants to fix something for Flippy to eat, she makes it difficult to decide what to make. She can't stand making simple food like sandwiches. She has to make something that is above that level. Flaky just liked making food that you would eat a fancy restaurant or something like that. Her specialty is baking. "Okay. Do you want sandwiches? How about beef stew and rice?"

"That sounds good too!" he exclaimed. Splendid could already smell the food web though they haven't even started to cook. He was looking foreword to eating food, and especially with Flaky and no one else. Finally he'd get that meal with her he's always wanted. "You should be a chef." he said. "You seem to love to cook a lot!"

"Okay! Lets get started." Flaky walked over to the sink and turned it on, washing her hands with soap and water. "First, we need to wash our hands." she said and moved so Jacob could wash his hands. She dried her hands on a clean towel beside the sink. "Once you're done washing your hands, we need to get out the ingredients. I'll do that while you wash your hands." Flaky searched for the ingredients and set them on the counter.

Splendid nodded his head and washed his hands, watching her gather the ingredience for their meal together. His cheeks grew hot and he looked away to hide it. Splendid couldn't dare tell her he still liked her a lot. It may be a little creepy since it's been so long, assuming he would already have someone to live. But he didn't. Would he ever? Why in the world would she date Axel? He was so trashy in highschool! But at the same time he treats Flaky so well...

The cheerful girl hummed a lullaby as she double checked to see if everything she needed was there. "Looks like that's everything. Lets get started!" Flaky rolled up her sleeves and winked at him playfully. She got out a big pot and put it on the stove. "I know! Lets listen to some music while we cook. Is there a specific song you want to listen to?" She took her iPod out of her pocket and gave it to him. "Go ahead and pick a song~"

Splendid looked through the music on her iPod, seeing a whole bunch of songs he knew. A lot of them were love songs, but he didnt want to the play any of those for Flaky's sake. He found a song that's been on the radio a lot and it was fun to dance to, ad he chose that one and put it on the doc to enhance the volume. "There. I haven't heard this song in a while!" he said, trotting back to the kitchen.

Flaky couldn't help but dance a little bit to the song. She sang along to the song while she put the rice in the rice cooker. She could taste it already! Music sort of distracted her, but she tried to pay attention to the food instead of singing and dancing. If only Flippy was there.... Flaky missed the times she would convince Flippy into dancing with her. What if she did the same with Jacob? She could easily fall in love with him again like she did when she was little. The one that got away.... was Jacob.

Splendid looked at her as she sang and danced to the song. He started blushing again and hummed a little. He found dancing was a little awkward, especially in front of her. If he fell or something she'd laugh and that would be awkward! Ha. He glanced at get a few times, seeing as how she was having a good time cooking. He laughed a little still keeping his eyes on her.

She turned to him when he laughed, and she blushed. Her cheeks were as red as an apple. "W-What's so funny?" He was watching me this whole time, wasn't he? This is so embarrassing! She walked over to Jacob and gazed into his eyes. Flaky put her right hand on his cheek and smiled warmly at him. "I-I'm so happy!" She began to cry happy tears, and she hugged him tightly, burying her face in his chest as she cried. "I missed you so much! And, I've been so lonely ever since Flippy left..."

Splendid's whole face grew hot when she hugged him in tears. "Well you're not alone anymore!" he replied, holding her in an embrace. Suddenly the thought about Flippy and what he would be thinking if he saw this. Probably furious. Temper-wise, he'd get killed brutally by the soldier. But he wasn't here... What if she fell in love with Splendid and left Flippy? As guilty as he would feel he'd find complete satisfaction in it. He still hugged her, a smile on his lips that grew devious.
(so wait, are Flippy and Flaky still gonna end up together? Or is Splendid gonna take her? I'm confused x___x lol)

(I don't really mind. I think Flippy and Flaky are perfect together, but if you think Jacob should be with Flaky then I guess I'm okay with that~)
Flaky shook her head and took a step back away from Jacob. "No. This isn't right!" She just realized what she was trying to do. It usually happens with most girls, but she couldn't believe she was actually going to go through with it at first. She was afraid that was going to happen right when Flippy left. She knew that if she became friends with a guy, or reunited with an old friend.... she would try to love and cling onto them. "Flippy is an idiot... I knew this was going to happen. I promised I wouldn't even think about leaving him for another guy, but it's so hard when he's not here with me. I want somebody to love.. I want Flippy!" Flaky cried and fell to her knees, wanting to just curl up and go to sleep and never wake up. She could be with Flippy in her dreams. "I'm a terrible girlfriend..... I don't deserve someone as amazing as Flippy... or you."
