Coralie gripped the strap of her bag even tighter as she stood in front of the library's doors. She gulped, a small drip of sweat running down her forehead. She was trembling slightly, and her breaths were shallow. What if the lady at the front desk spoke to her? What would Coralie do then? What if she said or did something weird? Does she walk funny? She took a deep breath, exhaling slowly. The library was supposed to be a very quiet place; she'd be fine. She tentatively reached her hand out and pushed open the somewhat-heavy doors, surprised to find that they didn't creak like she had worried about. There wasn't anyone at the desk; it must be the lady's lunch break or something. Coralie hurried to a random bookshelf before it was too late, not really worried about what genre she'd come across. She wasn't really here to read, anyway. She found a small area where some small chairs were seated around a small, square table. There were already some colorful books on the table, begging to be looked through. Coralie seated herself awkwardly in one of the chairs, picking up one of the books carefully. She didn't want to rip any pages, or drop the book, or... Anyway, she flipped the first page, a cute picture of a baby duck printed on it. A small space held some yellow fuzz that was able to be touched. With a small, curious sound, Coralie pet the fuzz. Strange book, she thought.

Li was looking through the sci-fi section of the library, as usual.
As Lia looked at the end of one of the shelves, she noticed a girl, a girl who was looking through the furry animals book that Li used to look through as a child. She was surprised it was still here.
"Interesting book, huh? My mum used to read it to me when we came here. I'd feel all the pages and I remember one time I knocked down this shelf I'm leaning on."
Lia said, wondering if she should've even said anything. Lia had a short stack of books in her hand. These were all books she had already read, but loved them so much that she just had to read them again.
"So, what kind of books are you interested in? My personal favorite is sci-fi."
Now awaiting an answer, Lia look at the fuzzy book the girl was looking at.

Coralie flinched, startled by another girl's voice. A nervous look came across her face as she looked up at the girl from her small seat. Coralie cast a glance to the side, not knowing what to say. "U-Um..." she mumbled, closing the book and showing the other girl the cover. She didn't read very much, and didn't really have a preference when it came to books. She still wasn't even aware that this was considered a children's book; she just thought that it was just something to read/feel when you were bored. "This kind...." she said, her voice quiet and taut.

Lia chuckled a little bit, then realizing she was serious.
Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't think you were being serious. I feel bad now.
Lia said, suddenly having an idea.
I work at the cafe and get a huge discount. Would you like me to check out one of those books and we can go and get some coffee or tea. Does that sound good?
She offered, hoping she would say yes.
I'm Lia, by the way. What am I to call you?

Coralie looked away as the other girl chuckled, slightly embarrassed but also wondering what was funny. As far as she knew, she hadn't made any jokes. But the feelings went away as the other girl apologized, and Coralie once again fixed her gaze back on the other girl. "It's okay,"she mumbled. Coralie easily forgave people, but mostly because she just didn't like to fight. Plus, there wasn't anything for her to be upset about anyway. Her gaze lit up slightly at the mention of the Cafe. And this Lia person even offered to check some books out for her! She gave a small smile and replied sheepishly,"Y-Yes, please. And my name's Coralie..." Lia seemed to be a nice person so far, which surprised Coralie. She was used to being chased off by angry shopkeepers, or just being ignored. She admitted that she was super nervous, but she also didn't mind the friendly company way too much.

Coralie followed Lia to the book check-out after she had chosen the books she wanted. All of them were children's books, the majority of them touch-and-feel. She wasn't a very good reader, but she could read children's stories fairly well. She hid behind Lia a little, looking down at the ground with a slight blush on her face. She didn't like having attention on herself, and she didn't like being noticed very much. She grabbed her books once they were checked out, managing a small wave at the librarian before they headed outside. She spoke after a few moments,"Um... Why are you being so nice, Lia?" Coralie was pretty sure that she hadn't done anything to deserve getting a free drink at the Cafe. As far as she knew, she thought that she came off as creepy to most people. She didn't mind having a drink at the Cafe, but she didn't want to owe anything to anyone else either. She wasn't the richest person in the world.
