"You do it again, Temperance, and it won't be two weeks you'll get, it'll be two years, you hear?" The warden of the prison barks at the fire demon, and said woman sighs.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. Won't be doing it again." She says in a bored tone. She glances up and down the road that led to the prison. She sighs again and rubs her head, for some reason already missing her orange jumpsuit. She did look pretty good in it...
"With your record, girl, I'm surprised you have a job. What'd ya' say it was again?"
Temperance looks at her friend(her friend being her prison warden and personal guard- it's sad that she sees him enough to be his friend.) and shrugs, "I didn't."
The warden ponders this, before saying, "Where are you going to go now, eh?"
Temperance shrugs again, "Wherever the wind take me, I guess..." She managed to keep a straight face for about three seconds before she was laughing like an idiot.
The warden rolls his teal eyes but still smiles, "Haha, very funny. Now scram! I have prison duties to take care of! And I better not see you here again!"
The fire demon smiles back at him and says, "Oh, you will. I was never the best at hiding crimes." She laughs at her lie, before turning to walk down the street, waving back at him as she went.
The warden stares after her, before muttering, "I'm going to see her next week..."
Temperance struts down the side of the road, eyes to the sky. I wonder if Lucy is okay...I left her with plenty of water...but I was gone for two weeks...nah she'll be fine. That dog has survived longer. She thought, toying with the hem of her baggy grey sweatshirt. Once she got to the main road, she shoved her thumn out so she could flag down approaching cars.
