A Rose On The Ground. Means A Love Story, But I have No One.
The sun gleamed in the light blue sky above. There was shade, most of it dappled with sunlight. Cory was sitting at camp looking at the sky. Her mask gleamed. The sunlight made it shine. It had been harder to hide now when it was white. I am bored. Phantom whined. Cory wasn't focused so she didn't hear it.

Kenny ducked beneath the branches of the thick foliage that blocked the forest. It tugged at his hat which bothered him. silently, he snagged his hat back from off a thorn branch. A snake was draped around his shoulders, funny enough, he'd found the guy on a mountain. "Poor guy, let's see if we can find some friends huh?" he said aloud petting the snake's head. He had named it Moe, why? He thought it was small and simple, but Moe was very intricate, a Burmese Python with a wonderful pattern on it's hide. Kenny laughed quietly and continued further into the forest to get what he searched for, a stick, but not any stick. He wanted to make a weapon, well, more like a self-defense mechanism. But he wanted a sling-shot. He couldn't afford a bow and arrows, nonetheless buy one. Swords were the same problem and a plain old pole seemed kind of dull.
Kenny closed his eyes to protect his vision and pushed through into a small clearing where a girl sat with a white mask on half of her face. Kenny smiled at her and waved, "Sorry if I'm intruding?" he said ignoring the small sharp nicks in his arms from the thorn bushes. He pushed his beige hat further back so he could see better. The girl had long brown hair and an odd set of eyes.

Cory said nothing. She was still focused on the sky. CORY! SOMEONE IS TALKING TO YOU! Phantom yelled at her. Cory then snapped outof it and noticed the boy. "What are you doing here?" Cory said.

Kenny shrugged, the snake wrapping even more around his neck adn looping around his arm. "Just browsing I guess. I found this guy awhile back. His name is Moe. But uh, I'm Kenny." he said smiling sheepishly. He smiled brightly and took a seat in front of her. "I was also looking for a certain stick." he added looking around the bottom of the tree for the certain stick he needed. He had never been good at introductions, but once he knew you, he was open and active, he liked to play and be a simple kid. Maybe he was a little childish for his age.

"I told you, I found him. Well, not here, I was in the mountains. He's a Burmese Python; Moe is." Kenny lengthened his arm for Moe, in which the snake slithered onto one of the low hanging branches. He picked at the grass on the ground, picking it and splitting it down the middle before starting on a new piece.

"Moe is a person! Animals have genders, so technically he is a guy!" he argued calmly. He fingered around the roots of the tree, "I was looking for a slingshot base. But anything would be good I guess. A spear or a bat, I can carve it out." he said changing the subject off of Moe. Kenny liked animals, they didn't judge or kill needlessly. They killed with reasons, like food or protection.

"But he's a person too." He objected. "By the way what's with the mask? Are you a sort of ghost?" He asked plainly. He was curious really, wasn't everyday you knew a person who wore a mask. Except at maybe a party, but that was in the city. Kenny liked the parties they threw, especially the mardi gras. He loved the colors and beads, it was the few events he could participate in; the parade was his favorite.

Kenny shrugged, dropping the snake topic and moving to the mask one. "Because, if you told me, I'd know something about you. If you had a question, I'd answer it. why not just do the same? The more we know, the better!" he said smirking, looking up as she went from sitting to standing. "Besides, a million reasons, and only one answer? I'm curious, and I won't tell." he added, green eyes teeming with curiosity.

Kenny shrugged, assuming something was hurt underneath that half of the mask. "Well, what are you doing out here? Are you hiding?" He poked questions left and right, not exactly caring if he was nosy.
