Steven was tired. He was twenty-one in two weeks so he still had the fake ID and the extra cash. Everything he could do to convince any bartender to serve him a drink. He knew this bar was different though since, teenagers would walk out with cases of beer. He just wanted a simple shot and that was it. He sat up at the bar and put down $5 on the counter. He said "Hey bartender! Hit me!" He sat making sure he had his butterfly knife in his pocket. he knew he would need it just in case thing got out of hand. Its not like he could really get hurt since, he could just regenerate his body.
He remembered going to bars to meet people. Now, he just wanted a simple drink and if there was nobody he knew here, he would probably leave. He didn't drink that much. At most, he had one or two drinks every twp weeks. He wasn't a huge fan of it, booze. He knew it was dangerous and he only drank to fit in. If he ran Nova City, alcohol would be illegal.

The bar wasn't that lively today, and Ace was able to serve this guy fast. He didn't reply to him, as if Steven was being ignored, but he was getting onto his request. Ace could tell judy by a quick glance at this guy that he doesn't drink often, a little gift of judgement he had, so he decided to give him something stronger than he may have wanted. Ten seconds later you see the top of a shot glass on fire, and that's when The bartender made his way to Steven. When he reached him, Ace blew the flames out with just a quick puff and placed it I front of him. "Here you go." he said with a charming smile, taking the five dollars from the counter and walking back to where he was sitting before, his little stool that he barely ever got to sit on.

Steven took a quick sip of this fiery drink. For an alcoholic beverage, he found it near addicting. "What is it? This is frankly amazing." He set another five down as he quickly guzzled the drink. This would probally be his first time drunk. Oh well he needed to loosen up. (sorry in a hurry)

(It's okay lol) Ace turned his attention back to him as he set the five down, and he walked over to Steven to give him another shot, and also answer his question. He loved it when people asked him what the drink was called. It made him know they liked it, and that he was doing a good job. "It's called Flaming Giraffe." he replied with a little chuckle. "Weird name, but it's pretty good, eh?" Ace prepared another 'Flaming giraffe' for him, and brought it to him, the shot still up in flames. "You can blow it out this time."

Steven blew it out with a quick breath. "I wish the bloody millitary had these. Then I might of considered not retiring." He thought it was a nice and fitting name. Again, he guzzled the flaming giraffe and briefly strteched. This bartender had a good nature about him. He could just tell. He decided to leave a $4 tip before going to the bathroom. He return and didn't know if he should get another drink or not.

"The military?" Ace lifted his eyebrows in surprise. He had a lot of respect for soldiers since his dad had a lot of them as friends. "I was thinking of joining the military for a while until I got this job here. But, thaanks for protecting our country, sir." he said, taking the tip.Ace came to like this man. He was pretty nice, maybe they'd become acquainted. While he was gone, a few other people came to the counter, so he was kept busy for the time-being. When he came back and sat back down he was busy with someone's complicated order, but Steven was right next to him. "Want another? Thanks for the tip, by the way."

Steven was suprised. Not many people told him that he normally was called a right winged facist or some rude thing. he said pleasantly, "Thank you sir." He then saw Ace walking off He didn't mind giving away that small amount of money. More was always earned anyways. He thought aout what Ace said, about wanting to join the millitary. The barender seemed nice enough and he asked "So whats your name? You seem to get alot of business here." He felt like talking, not drinking.

Guess he didn't want a drink, but he was happy that this guy stayed to talk. "My name's Ace, how about you?" he asked, sliding the drink down the counter at a nice strength, stopping infront of the customer who ordered it. Ace passed the bartending course with flying colours, and his older cousin was a bartender too, so he tought him a thing or two, like that little drink sliding thing he just did. "Well, the bar just opened a week ago and apparently the town really wanted one." Ace backed up and grabbed his can of redbull. He needed that to keep him awake longer. He wasn't used to staying up so late with his new job, so he needed to set his body clock. Good thing is,he can sleep in.

Steven watched the drink slide down the counter. "Thats a nice trick Ace. Name's Steven. We did need one but I moved here the day thispl ace opened up and I wanted to check it out ever since.'' he knew a way to keep Ace awake but he had to keep his powers hidden. If anyone found out he would be dead. He went paler than usual and he stuttered "C-c-can I have another drink?" He felt alittle weak for some reason. he hoped he wasn't losing control over his powers. He let out a faint gulp before sliding a $5 on the counter.

"Nice to meet yah, Steven." Ace replied, taking another sip from his redbull. But than he looked at Steven, concerned about his pale skin and the way he stuttered. It was all a little sudden and probably not normal. "You sure you want another one? You don't look so well." he wondered, but took the five and prepared the shot for him anyway. Usually people would say try wanted one anyway since they were drunk, and Ace didn't give a crap. Steven could have felt a little tipsy. Ace flew out the flames to the finished drink and handed up to him. "Enjoy."

Steven then flushed back to normal as he took the drink. It appeared alchohol affected his powers. He said "Nice to meet you too Ace. What inspired you to come here of all places to open a bar?" He shook his head and did one thing. He saw a dart board and had an evil smile. He took out the butterfly knife and chucked it at the dart board. It landed dead center. He went over retrieved the knife and sat down like nothing happened even if several people were staring at him.
Ace smiled at him as he seemed to turn back to normal. And as he watched the knife hit the target dead center he smirked. "Nice aim you got there. So I guess you're not drunk yet." he remarked, taking the empty shot glass away. "Well, I don't know really..." he began glancing at the people to see if they were done their drink. Not yet, so he could answer his question now. "I guess because when I was looking for a place to work, I was told they were opening up this new place, so I took the job here. And since they've got no other bartenders I can't get fired. Even if i was doing a crappy job." Ace laughed a little and took another sip from his redbull.

Steven just smiled. He finally said "Nice. Well vyour doing some good work here. People always need a place to relax. I gotta go." He placed $12 on the counter and walked out of the bar into the night. (end thread)
