His imaginary friend [open]

Alec's head turned to a cooing noise, assuming it was Bloo, but it wasn't. In fact, it was his friend October! His eyes lit up like a Christmas tree and he jumped up to her, pulling the girl into a tight hug. For once he actually woke up happy in his boring little room. Alec let go of her eventually and looked around, looking for something they could do. He noticed two teddy bears he would usually sleep with at night. They made him feel safe, with all the scary people living close to him. Alec took them both, one pink and one blue, and have her the pink one assuming she would prefer that one over the blue. Maybe they could pretend the bears were friends and go on adventures together.

She was slightly startled at the sudden mood swing, but overall was joyful. He caught her in a tight hug and she rapped her arms around him as well, happy emotions just bliss. It was a hard way to describe just a peaceful bond.
A day at the park had turned from a confusing puzzle into a close friendship.
He let her go and she stepped forward as if unsure whether to follow. He wasn't going anywhere after all. Then, he pulled out two bears similar to the white one in the chair by the wall. Only there were two and each was a different color, one blue, one pink. He handed her the pink one and she tucked it accepting my under her arms. She'd never received a gift before, besides her ankle thing, but that was not a present.
October smiled brightly and her blue eyes twinkled folding onto the ground and examining her smaller companion and giggling, looking up at Alec and smiling big.

Alec sat down right after her, still holding that joyous smile. He made the blue beat wave it's arm at the pink bear as if it was saying hello. He giggled a little. Alec loved using his imagination. He enjoyed drawing pictures and imagining the adventures the two bears go on together. He names the blue one Landon and the pink one Adrianna. The two bears were married and it's always been like that since the day he got them. Alec made the bear hug the pink bear and than make the blue bear run to the left, hoping the pink beat would follow.

October smiled and made the bear wave it's fuzzy arm. It's sewed on smile seeming to widen as she walked closer and followed the blue one around. She'd never played like this. But she liked it!
Her hands acted like she'd done his all her life and her nerves had dissolved. The small pink bear followed the blue one closely, peeking around the white room as if in a new place. Her head swayed to an imaginary beat of joy.
An adventure of playing, she imagined a large city like the on they had here only much bigger and on a tall mountain. The sky would be dark and purple, not blue. There were no roads and everyone she imagined had blank faces, but she imagined them as friendly and happy people.

Alec imagined it as a mountain region with animals instead of people. There were purple elephants and green birds. Axel didn't know much about his animals and where they were located but at least he changed the colour and new what they really looked like it real life. He likes to read those picture books with animals in them. Okay he can't read but likes to look at the pictures. Alec made the bear trot to his untouched bed with white sheets that was low to the ground and made the bear jump up to the top. He imagined it as a mountain. The bear peeked over the edge and waited for the pink bear to follow.

October watched as there eyes danced with images of far away places that may or may not exist. But what she thought was 'fun' was a feeling hard to come by. Being forced into hurting others and watching horrible things, fun things were rare.
October considered herself lucky to have Alec, to have a bear, to have everything. There were always worse scenarios.
She watched as the blue bear jumped to the bed, and the pink one followed after. It was like a game of follow the leader as she had heard.

Alec made the bear peek over the mountain and than continue to keep walking. Or the bear, the mountain was very high up and it even gave Alec chills just thinking about it. The boy glanced around the room and found a box with something inside he wasn't allowed to open. He decided to use that as another animal. He made the box jump out in front of them and move around as if it was trying to scare them. Alec's bear would save the day. He made the bear back up and than run at the box, mashing them together to look as if they were fighting. But than Alec dropped the box on the floor, and the box opened to reveal a pill than rolled across the room.
He stared for a moment but than on his hands and knees, crept towards it. But before he got the chance to pick it up his door flung open and his nurse screamed him name, grabbing him by the shoulders and flinging him backwards. "Alec! What did I tell you about opening the box?!" She snapped, picking the coloured pill with a plastic bag. Her eyes glared at the boy, red with fury. "Sit on your bed, and don't move until I say so. You're in a time out."
Alec hated time outs. They were boring and bummed down his mood. He sat on his bed, cross legged with his head facing the floor and held a sad expression. What was so bad about the pill, anyway?

Her blue eyes twinkled as she watched Alec tackle a box that he had found. It was odd that she had not noticed it before. The blue bear tackled the box which gave her the hint that they were fighting. She imagined it as big monsters, like one of those big cats that she had seen on one of the pictures in books. The box fell to the box with a small clatter and she assumed that they had won. October cheered, her bear walking up to to his and peckin him on the cheek. She smiled brightly, but it was a short lives experience.

The white door slammed open, causing her to yelp in surprise and slight fear. She backed up away from the red-faced woman and got closer to the bed. She was yelling at them, probably about the box. The lady picked up the small bottle with a large pill inside. She pointed at the bed and Alec sat there with a slightly annoyed look.
Still fearing the lady, she followed after him. Slipping into the bed behind him, hiding herself behind Alec. What was so bad?
October held onto his arm, peeking over his shoulder shyly.

Alec was puzzled. He recalled what the pill's purpose was for, and it was simple.. They called it the forever happy pill. Just that one pill and you'd never be sad again. They left it in his room incase he wanted it. Alec has been displaying signs of depression and they told him if he was really sad for a long time he was aloud to take the pill, but he had to ask them first, and they needed to approve of it.
In reality it was a cyanide pill and would quickly kill him. Just touching it would get the harmful toxins to enter your body. That's why the nurses were to strict about it.
Alec still hadnt moved from his spot, but he listened to the nurses conversation outside. He didn't understand it one but, but he heard him name and it was said in a bad tone.
"Why didn't you let him take the pill?"
"Alec wasn't sad! He was completely happy he was just curious!"
"He's going to die eventually he shouldn't have to suffer through it!"
"Fine! I'll put the pill back in his room! But if Alec takes the pill and dies in front of his friend don't complain your heartaches to me!"
The nurse walked back into the room with the box and placed it back on the shelf, looking at Alec with forgiving eyes. "I'm sorry I snapped at you Alec." She said. "I didn't want you to touch the happy pill because you don't need it yet." She ruffled his hair and smiled. "No more timeout for you! Why don't you two go for lunch? Alec you can be independent and go without our help today!"

She looked at Alec, to the pill, then to the door where the nurses all huddled in argument. October didn't like that pill... It made her nervous and made her tummy feel all twisted. Just looking at it made her uneasy.
October hid behind him as one came back in to return the small box to a high shelf. Too tall for her, but if needed, Alec could probably get to it. Although she would stop him first.
The nurse smiled at them and her eyes narrowed. She said something about going out. That would be okay.
The white walls were beginning to make her eyes hurt, she rubbed at them. Her mouth started cooing as if to agree that it would be good to get out of here. She brought the pink bear close to her chest, hugging at as she tried to smile brightly at her friend.

Alec noticed she was holding the bear and took the blue one, holding it in a hugging way. He started to walk out of his room and down the hall, occasionally checking behind him to make sure October was following him. Alec was hungry and couldn't wait to eat. The cafeteria had good food, all for free and the place was hardly ever crowded. They turned a corner and his face brightened up. Bloo was standing at the door to the cafeteria.

Slowly, she was able to slide off the and walk after him. The idea of going towards all the nurses made her a bit in edge, but maybe it would be okay. They all seemed to understand and were even used to people like Alec and her.
October sped up, keeping close behind him as to not get lost. She shuddered, that would be horrible.
Suddenly he stopped, October nearly crashed into him, a slight bump as she backed up to look ahead. She saw nothing really, but the surprise and happy look on Alec's face made her believe that it was Bloo. October looked between him and the empty spot where she imagined the Bloo to be.

Alec started to mouth out his imaginary words to his imaginary friend with a smile on his face. He started walking towards the cafeteria and in his mind invited Bloo to join them for lunch, and he smiled bigger when Bloo agreed. He opened the door to the cafeteria and they were greeted by a wide variety of popular food companies. All for free which was even better! Alec looked at October and gestured his hand in saying 'you pick first!'

She kept close behind him, her eyes peering out and around the large room. The smells wafting from the kitchen were nauseating and her stomach growled ferociously in protest to her patience. It wasn't crowded, but the staff waiting behind the counter spooked her just enough. But, to keep her friend happy and keep her stomach from eating it's own lining, she agreed and stepped up to the glass case.
Silently, she started pointing to good looking items that caught her eye. It seemed the people here were used to things like this and nodded as they piled what she wanted onto a plate.
October stood amazed, turning to Alec and smiling ecstatically.
