He was new to this town. Well, techically he had been there for five years, but more under the radar than anything, so it wasn't as if people knew him.
So, he was new to this 'snazzy' town.
He leans his head back to the door of his 'room'. Well, room being a shed on top of an abandoned building. Yeah, yeah,
"But why doesn't he just live in the abandoned building?"
Because the damn workers checked it daily, that's why! There was nothing in the shed, so he knew they wouldn't come up there to get anything out of his home.
Eli slams his head against the door, making a dent in the metal. He curses before standing up, rubbing away pain that wasn't even there. His bright and slightly pointed amber eyes survey the door with huge dislike, and he opens it. He walks out into the cool air, taking a few breaths of the night. He strides over to the side of the building, leaning onto the ledge. His eyes watch the hustle and bustle of the party down below. A frown deepens his features, and his fists clench into the fabric of his baggy blue hoodie-stolen of course. He couldn't afford anything right now.
His eyes land on a girl in the crowd of the street festival and he can't help but stare at how beautiful she was. His moment was quickly ruined by that urge in his chest. He tries to look away, but his demonic side forces him to look more closely at the girl, surveying her soul. She had a pure soul, sweet and innocent in every way. Eli clenches his head, said appendage pounding as he fought off the feeling. He cries out in pain, and falls to the ground, curling up on himself.
He was...so, so hungry. But not in the humane sense. In a different way. He was hungry, but not for McDonald's, that's for sure. He was starving for his form of food.
The souls of the pure and innocent.
Eli knew that wasn't entirely true, he would take the souls of the wicked as well, but those tasted horrrible, like rotten vegetables left in a dumpster in the middle of summer.
"Breathe, Eli...breathe idiot, it'll pass. Just don't look again...just don't look..." He whispered, his voice gruff and pained.
Minutes pass, hours even, before he finally unwound himself to heave himself up. He does so, and breaths in again, clenching his teeth. Geeze, why is that always so painful?! he thought, before shaking his head.
Eli cautiously peeks over the ledge, but doesn't see the girl again. He sighs in relief and goes back to watching the crowd, all by his lonesome.
